Catchment groups are rich in local knowledge and innovative ideas but require good information to know where to invest time and effort to improve the environment. We have developed tools for catchment groups so they can do things themselves and learn from each other, rather than constantly relying on outside experts.

Physiographic maps provide information on how water behaves through the landscape and are very helpful in assessing risk; a key component of catchment or farm planning.

Our eDNA survey has assessed the health of streams and wetlands, provides a baseline from which to work, and helps us understand priorities.

The riparian health assessment and SHMAK test have helped several catchment groups understand impacts on stream health and plan action, both individually and as a catchment group.

Our templates for winter grazing plans and freshwater-focused farm plans have been used by many of our catchment group members to learn, share information, and plan ahead.

If you or your catchment group wants to access our resources or would like to discuss how they might be able to help in your situation please feel free to get in touch, either through your local catchment group chair, or by emailing us at livinglandscapessc@gmail.com
